NAIDOC Fun Day 2007

Wollondilly Shire Council works with the community to provide the best possible quality of life and safety of the environment by managing growth and providing services and facilities of the highest quality.


Computer System Upgrade

Council will be implementing a new computer system on 1 July 2008 to improve our services.  During the changeover period some services may be affected.  We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused.  Watch this space for further details.


NAIDOC Family Day 2008

Wollondilly Shire Council in conjunction Wollondilly Aboriginal Advisory Committee will again be holding a NAIDOC family day event.  This year the event will be held on Sunday 6 July at Picton Botanic Gardens between 10am to 2pm.  Here is your chance to be involved and learn about the traditional people of this land and their culture.

  


Mayor's Diary Notes

At a Community Meeting at Warragamba on 25 June, Cr Judith Hannan suggested that she put  diary notes on the Warragamba and Surrounds web site, to keep the Community informed about any progress dealing with the road in the area known as Baines Hill. Volunteers Morning Tea

As part of Local Government Week, we have a Volunteers Morning Tea, where Council recognises community members who are involved in volunteer work in our Shire.  If you know of someone who deserves this kind of recognition, you can nominate them by contacting our Communications Unit on 4677 1179.

Community Strategic Plan 2030

Council's Draft Community Strategic Plan 2030 exhibition period has closed. A report outlining the results from Council's engagement with the Community will shortly be put on this site along with the final version of the Community Strategic Plan after any changes have been resolved by Council. Our New Tendering System

Wollondilly Shire Council now has an electronic tendering system. This system speeds up the tendering cycle and reduces the time and costs for both Wollondilly Shire Council and our suppliers.

Local Government Elections

For all enquiries regarding the upcoming Local Government Elections in September 2008, please check this web site http://www.elections.nsw.gov.au/. For information about Non-residential Rolls please check http://www.lg.elections.nsw.gov.au/ where a claim form can be found if you are a non-resident.


Blades Bridge Closure

For the safety of the Community, Blades Bridge at Douglas Park will be temporarily closed. Council is currently working on a solution.


Prospective Candidates for Local Government Elections

If you are interested in finding information about becoming a Local Government Councillor or about the upcoming Local Government Elections, you can logon to the NSW Electoral Commission web site on www.elections.nsw.gov.au


Wollondilly's Animal Shelter - Open on the Weekends

Currently, there are a number of puppies at the Wollondilly Animal Management Facitiliy that require a home. Check online to see the animals in Wollondilly's Animal Management Facility. Please click here. The hours of the Animal Shelter have been extended from 10am to 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays.


Mushroom Tunnel

The Mushroom Tunnel site will be opened weekdays from 8am to 2pm with no pedestrian access permitted through the tunnel.

Wollondilly Shire Council has entered into a relationship with a region in Estonia known as Viljandi.

Council holds monthly Community Forums and Ordinary Council Meetings. The next Community Forum will be held on Monday 14 July 2008. The next Ordinary Meeting of Council will be held on Monday 21 July 2008.

MACROC

MACROC is an association of the Macarthur Region's three local government authorities, Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly. It has been in operation since 1986.
