Aboriginal Information

Wollondilly Shire Council in conjunction with Council's Aboriginal Advisory Committee aims to:

  • To raise the profile of Aboriginal people within the Shire;

  • To establish direct lines of communication to promote acces, equity, participation and consultation between the Aboriginal people and Council;

  • To advise on appropriate consultation and referral processes with the broader Aboriginal community;

  • To develop and support appropriate celebrations of Aboriginal Culture;

  • To promote and encourage employment and career development opportunities for Aboriginal people within Council;

  • To promote projects that Council and the Aboriginal people can work on together;

  • To promote mutual awareness and respect for the cultures of both the Aboriginal and non Aboriginal communities and;

  • To provide advice on how Council projects may identify, reflect and protect Aboriginal heritage and culture.
