Rates Information

Rates are levied for the 12-month period from 1 July to 30 June.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS

 

The postal address on your rates notice can be changed by informing Council by letter or signed fax or email to council@wollondilly.nsw.gov.au.

 

CHANGE OF NAME

 

If you wish to change your name on the rate notice please supply Council with either a copy of marriage certificate or relevant deed poll documents.

 

CHANGE OF OWNERS

 

If you wish to add or delete a name on a rate notice you must first change your title deeds with the Department of Land and Property Information, who will then inform Council.

 

PENSIONERS

 

Certain classes of pensioners are eligible for a rate rebate. If you are an eligible pensioner and a rebate does not show on your rate notice, or if you become an eligible pensioner after the date of the notice, you may be entitled to a partial rebate. A pension rebate application form must be completed and a copy of it is available below.

 

LAND CATEGORISATION

 

The Local Government Act 1993 requires all rateable land to be categorised according to its dominant use. If you disagree with your category or if the dominant use of the land has changed you may appeal. Appeals must be made within 30 days of the issue of the rate notice. A Land Categorisation form is available below.

The Valuer General's Department determines the land value used to calculate your rates. Any enquiries or appeals against the valuation must be made to that Department at: Land & Property Information PO Box 22 MACARTHUR SQUARE NSW 2560

 

DOMESTIC WASTE AVAILABILITY CHARGE

All rateable land within the area for which the Domestic Waste Management Service is available is liable for the service availability charge. This includes vacant land..
