Profile - North Ward - Cr Simon LandowLast modified: September 28, 2009 - 9:00 AM
I feel that my history and position in the Shire gives me a unique insight into our community from both the Youth and Worker's point of view. I’m proud to be the youngest ever Wollondilly Shire Councillor, and one of the areas that I want to focus on is the availability of facilities for the youth in the Shire. There are a lot of young people in the area and they need to be represented on Council. I would like to create a youth Council, which would highlight some of the issues facing young people. They would act as an advisory body to the Council and hopefully effect some changes as well. I am committed to giving the residents of North Ward a better deal over the next four years. Areas that I believe need more attention are local roads, sporting facilities and community services. I will lobby for more jobs in the Shire, but not at the expense of the environment. I will also be working to keep Wollondilly rural and retain our Shire’s unique rural character. I support the community’s wishes to stay rural and I’ll oppose any mass development. Controlled and sensible development is necessary to maintain the rural nature of Wollondilly. Committees:
