Profile - East Ward - Cr Benn BanasikLast modified: November 4, 2009 - 9:35 AM
I have lived in Wollondilly since 1987 when I was just 4 years old. I was schooled at St Anthony's Primary, Picton High and Campbelltown TAFE. I ran for Council to get a better deal for the residents of East Ward, and am very committed to this. I had the honour of being elected to Council in September 2008. My priority in representing Council is to lobby for further funding of roads and infrastructure for all of Wollondilly, and especially East Ward. As well as protecting our rural heritage and lifestyle that we all enjoy as Wollondilly residents. I would like to see Council strongly lobby the state government for the best interests for all residents, and I oppose many short sighted plans for Industrial Developments, airports and power stations that are bad for our local environment, resident's house prices and will provide little job growth locally. I want to see Council adopt a sustainable management plan and growth strategy for the future of our shire, and I also would like to see environmentally friendly and sustainable options in the forefront of Council's plans for the future. I am currently employed by the Federal government, and I live with my wife Amanda, my cat Jam and dog Murray. Benn was elected as a Councillor in September 2008, Benn has also been elected Deputy Mayor from September 2009 To contact Cr Benn Banasik phone 0434 832 636 or email benn.banasik@wollondilly.nsw.gov.au Committees
