Councillor Shane Read

Profile - East Ward - Cr Shane Read

Councillor Read has lived in Tahmoor since 1974, growing up, marrying and raising his own family in the town. His wife Denise is also a local and his three children are schooled in the Shire.

"Ten years ago I started up my workshop at Bargo with a tool box and $200," says Councillor Read.

"Since then I have worked my way up to my current premises, the old Hardware store in Bargo, which I couldn't have done without the support of the local residents."

"I see this as my chance to give something back to the Community."

"I certainly have a lot to learn, but I am looking forward to it."

Shane was Deputy Mayor from September 2007 to September 2008.
