Organising Community Events

Wollondilly Shire Council is keen to support festivals and events in this area and recognises these as an important part of community life.

To make an event successful it is imperative that the Event Organiser ensures their event planning and management meets the necessary regulative provisions of Local and State Government.

An excellent Events Starter Guide has been put together by the NSW Government, Department of Premier and Cabinet, Office of Protocol and Special Events.  It is invaluable that you read this guide before even considering holding an event.

Throughout the Guide there are websites and telephone numbers that you may find useful when organising your event.

Please note that if you wish for Council to provide financial assistance to support the running of your event, your group can apply for funding through Council’s Community Grants Scheme.  Please contact Council’s Community Services on 4677 8261.
