Waste Management Centres

Wollondilly Shire Council has two waste management centres, however, there are other facilities within the region to assist residents in managing their waste and recycling. Click on the links below for details about each facility.

Bargo Waste Management Centre - Published: 04 Sep 2009
The Bargo Waste Management Centre is open to Wollondilly Shire Residents and can accept waste that is free of food and putrescible material. From 1 July 2009, the State Government will impose the Section 88 Waste and Environment Levy on waste disposal in the Wollondilly Shire. Additional charges will apply from 1 July 2009.    more ..

Macarthur Resource Recovery Park - Published: 25 Jun 2009
The Macarthur Resource Recovery Park, to be built and operated by WSN Environmental Solutions on their existing Jacks Gully site, will be the first large scale fully integrated waste management site in Australia. more ..

Penrith Waste Management Centre - Published: 24 Aug 2007
The Penrith Waste Management Centre is available for the disposal of waste and recyclable materials. This facility is not managed by Wollondilly Shire Council, and is located in the Penrith City Local Government Area. more ..

CLOSED Warragamba Trial Resource Recovery Facility - Published: 25 Jun 2009
Council has examined the viability of continuing to operate the Warragamba Trial Resource Recovery Facility, and at its meeting on Monday 21 April 2008, Council resolved that is not feasible to continue operating the Trial Resource Recovery Facility due to the operational expenditure far exceeding the income generated from the resource recovery activities. As such, the facility ceased all operations on Monday 30 June 2008 at 4.30pm. Rehabilitation of the site will commence in 2009/10. more ..

Illegal Dumping - Published: 10 Sep 2007
Wollondilly Shire Council is getting tough on illegal dumpers. Bushland, sides of roads, private properties and public areas have all been used as impromptu rubbish tips by people who don't want to pay tip fees or can't be bothered taking their waste to the appropriate place. more ..
