Why did the Government introduce this new law?My septic tank was installed many years ago.A government survey carried out in the late 90's indicated that septic tanks and other on-site sewerage systems were failing to meet environment and health protection standards in all parts of NSW. In one instance 440 cases of hepatitis A, and one death were linked to the consumption of commercial oysters near a waterway affected by failing septic systems. |
