How much will lifetime registration cost?

Registration fees are set by the Companion Animals Regulation 1999. Currently, the fees are:

  • Entire (undesexed) cat or dog - $150.00
  • Entire cat or dog owned by a registered breeder - $40.00
  • Desexed cat or dog - $40.00
  • Desexed cat or dog owned by a pensioner - $15.00
  • Trained assistance animals such as seeing eye or hearing dogs are required to be microchipped and registered but there is no registration fee charged. Greyhounds, which are registered with the Greyhound Racing Control Board, are not required to be microchipped or registered. Any Greyhounds not registered with the Greyhound Racing Control Board will be required to be microchipped and registered in the same way as any other dog.
