Wollondilly Library is now a Hotspot for Free Wireless BroadbandLast modified: July 2, 2009 - 3:14 PM
Customers at Wollondilly Library can now connect to free wireless broadband. The technology will enable library users to connect their WiFi enabled laptop to the Library’s WiFi network from Wollondilly Library during opening hours. A hotspot is an area in a building that offers Wi-Fi access to the Internet. WiFi is the trade name for wireless technology. Mobile phones, video games, laptops and other portable devices can be used to access the wireless connections provided. We have limited space in the Library so adding extra computers is not a viable option so we’ve expanded the service by enabling customers to come into our Library and browse the web for free on their own laptop which is a great convenience to them. “We are so pleased to be making technology accessible for our community, and we believe the wireless access will prove very popular with high school and tertiary students in the area, “said Mayor, Cr Michael Banasik.
