Last modified: September 29, 2009 - 4:12 PM

It’s Clean Up time again. Wollondilly Shire Council provides residents with a biannual clean up service for bulky household materials and scrap metal (kept in a separate pile). Residents are invited to place up to 1.5 cubic metres of material out for each collection. The first week will kick off on Monday 12 October 2009. Residents should check their clean up calendar to find out when they can put their material out for collection.

Items that can be placed out for collection include:
Furniture
Old Toys
Rolls of Carpet and linoleum (less than 1.8m in length)
Pottery and ceramics
Items that can be placed in the scrap metal pile:
 Exercise Equipment
 Refrigerators (doors must be removed)
 Dryers
 Washing Machines
 Air Conditioners
 Hot Water Systems
 Microwaves
  Car Batteries

Items that cannot be placed out for collection:
NO  household  waste or food scraps
 NO  dirt,  rocks &  concrete
NO  construction waste, concrete and bricks
NO  green waste and tree stumps
 NO  tyres &  car  parts
NO   paint or chemicals (no hazardous waste)
NO Items that could not be reasonably be moved by 2 people
NO Items greater than 1.8 in length (ie would not fit in a box trailer)
NO  trade, industrial or shop waste including fittings and fixtures.

To ensure your clean up materials are collected:
 Place items out by 6am on the Monday your collection is due to commence
 Do NOT put more than 1.5 cubic metres out for collection
 Do NOT place items that are unacceptable out for collection
 Place scrap metal and car batteries in a separate pile
 Remove the doors from fridges and freezers
 Keep your clean up materials off the road and footpaths
 Small items must be put in a box or bag
 Place items neatly to ensure the contractors can safely access and handle your items
 Do not place items out after the collection is scheduled to commence as the collection vehicle will NOT return to streets for items placed out late.
